bangaloREsidency 2015 - see my story

Öffnet externen Link in neuem FensterI am very happy to be one of them. Shortly the bangaloREsidency 2015 programme from the Öffnet externen Link in neuem FensterGoethe-Institut Bangalore begins! Various musicians, designers and artists from Germany will live and work in Bangalore for two months.

"see my story – bangaloREsidency @ Blank Noise
During her bangaloREsidency in India, Sabine Felber will create self-portraits with people who reflect on their perception of safety in public spaces. The work will be guided by the statement “I never ask for it” – the campaign slogan of Blank Noise, the local partner in India. Looking at the meaning of the statement and the thought patterns (maybe unconsciously attitudes of victim blame) that define public space – e.g. “Don’t go out after dark!” –  participants will tell their stories with the help of photography, short video sequences and sound.
The result will be a series of autobiographical short stories with local reference and universal validity."

autobiographical photography in prison

Autobiographical photography strated a project with sixteen women in prison who created self portraits. The show in which they will display their works took place in November 2012.

Since the pilot project was a hugh success, autobiographical photography in prison will be ongoing. We are looking for partners/ prisons to work with for the next workshop and exhibition.
